Music
The Minor in Music has the following requirements:
- Twenty credits (the equivalent of five courses) in Music.
- A minimum of 40 credits in HSSA courses must be earned to obtain the minor.
- Substitutions may be made with the approval of the Minor Advisor.

Students may choose to satisfy the MUSI H101 pre-requisite for MUSI H102 and MUSI H302 by passing the Music Theory Placement Test. Students who place into MUSI H102 or MUSI H302 and pass either course with a C or better will earn credit by examination for MUSI H101.

One credit of MUSI H100 Music Performance represents one academic term of satisfactory participation in one accredited Performing Group. Students may take up to four credits of MUSI H100 Music Performance and are limited to a maximum of two credits (that is, participation in two ensembles) per term. The four credits need not be completed consecutively, nor must they all be completed in the same performing group. The specific criteria for “satisfactory participation” will be provided to the candidate by the ensemble directors.
Students may apply only one (1) transfer course toward a minor. Exceptions may be made with the approval of the Minor Advisor.
