Language & Literature

The Minor in Language and Literature has the following requirements:

  1. In addition to HUM H190 First-Year Writing Seminar and ENGL H290 Technical & Professional Communication, five courses in Language and Literature, which may include any English course (ENGL) and any of the following:
    HUM H236The American Dream4
    HUM H332Don Quixote4
    or HUM H333 Representations of Reality
    HUM H334Gender,Work, & Popular Culture4
    HUM H337Latin American Fiction: The Boom & Beyond4
    HUM H338Contemporary Arabic Literature in Translation4
    HUM H380Literature and Human Rights in Latin America4
    HUM H390Saints, Sinners, and Swords: Medieval European Literature4
    ENGL H470Communication Lab Fellow Training4
  2. A minimum of 40 credits in HSSA courses.
  3. Substitutions may be made with the approval of the Minor Advisor.

Students may apply only one (1) transfer course toward a minor. Exceptions may be made with the approval of the minor advisor.
